Hi I'm Marianna

I am a wife and mother. I love people and the performing arts. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I studied theater in college because I love the feeling of live performance and collaboration with others. I enjoy singing and acting. I'm not a very good dancer, but I like that also. I played the piano and the violin a little when I was younger. Now I have a wonderful husband and four amazing kids. I work as a sales manager and my husband works at an addiction recovery facility. We're very busy and that doesn't leave much time for me to participate in the arts, read, or relax the way I used to. I'm happy, though. Right now I'm helping my children discover and develop their talents. I'm focused on helping them succeed and become their own best selves. What that means in daily life is that I do a lot of laundry and dishes, play referee when there are problems between kids, juggle the family schedule, pay the bills, and hope that the traffic lights line up just right when I'm rushing to and from work. I'm like most women I know who just want to be happy and bring joy to others in the process.

Why I am a Mormon

My family has been Mormon almost since the church was formed. My parents and grandparents were all active and faithful members. So I was raised with the doctrine and practices all around me. But I had my own personal conversion along the way. Jesus Christ and his atonement give meaning and direction to my life. I am very grateful that I grew up learning His gospel. Through study and prayer, I have learned for myself that the same church Christ established in ancient times is here now. He is the one leading this church. I choose to follow Him and live my life His way.

How I live my faith

I live my faith every day. I pray every morning and every night. I read my scriptures regularly. Then I do my personal best to listen for the inspiration He sends to me. I live with kindness and compassion toward others because I know we are all children of the same loving Heavenly Father. I attend church every week and serve there. Currently I teach the Sunday lesson once a month to the women's organization. Occasionally I sing in the choir or as a soloist. I visit 3 other women from the congregation once a month to bring them a brief gospel message and find out if there is anything I can do to help them. I could make a list of the things that I do or don't do every day or week, but more important is who I am becoming because of my faith. It has been my experience that living the gospel and relying on Christ brings me joy, peace, and personal growth that I couldn't have found otherwise.
