Hi I'm Rachel

I am a mother of seven children. I have been a Mormon all my life.

About Me

I am a composer. Music is a big part of my life! I live in a rural area and we raise milk goats. I home school my children.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family, and my parents instilled in me the teachings of the church. However, I have come to know for myself without any doubts that this church is the Lord's church on the earth. He restored the fulness of his gospel through Joseph Smith. After studying and trying God's word, I have had a witness from the Holy Ghost that these things are true. The most important thing I feel that I do now is teach my children to follow Jesus Christ. It is the only place true happiness is found.

How I live my faith

I don't smoke or drink alcoholic drinks. I don't view PG-13 or R-rated movies. I pray morning and night and frequently throughout the day. I know that God is our Father in Heaven, and I try my best to stay close to him and my Savior, Jesus Christ. I pray and read scriptures with my children. I am faithful to my husband, physically and emotionally. I attend church every Sunday, and I serve in the church as the president of our local Relief Society, the church's organization for women. I also sing in the choir that provides music for our worship services. I strive to be honest in all that I do--even in small things. I pay tithing of ten percent of my earnings. I give money to help those who are in need, and though economic times are tough and giving sometimes feels like a sacrifice, we have never gone without. I know that I am blessed for helping others of God's children! I sometimes play the piano for the children's Sunday meeting, called "Primary." I wrote a song for the teenagers to sing that helps remind them of their heritage of faith, both from ancestors and from members of the church who have gone before them.
