Hi I'm Charles

I grew up in Utah. I love hiking and camping. I'm an Eagle Scout, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am happily married and have a wonderful family. I teach a telecommunications class at a local university. I participate in the development of industry standards for various technologies used for communications and connecting the world together. I have hiked several peaks that are higher than 14,000 feet. I enjoy Amateur Radio, photography, camping, and hiking.

Why I am a Mormon

One day our third son went to bed and passed away. This was an especially difficult time for my wife and me. We wondered how this could happen to us? We were faithful followers of Jesus Christ and kept all his commandments the best we could. It was at this point in time that the Plan of Salvation, sometimes referred to as the Plan of Happiness, took on new meaning for us and provided us with the spiritual strength and comfort we needed to get through this difficult time. Although he was taken from us, we know that there is a life after death and that we will be reunited with our son in the hereafter. Without that knowledge, we may have become bitter and closed the door on the world around us. But instead we were able to grow through the experience and later became instrumental in helping another family that went through a similar experience. Life was not meant to be easy. It is a period of time for us to grow and develop and demonstrate to ourselves and to God that we love Him. He is there to help us through our trials and tribulations. The Gospel of Jesus Christ helps me to understand the meaning of life and what is truly important. I know that if I live a righteous life, I will be able to return to my Heavenly Father and that my family will be reunited with me in Heaven. This is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I enjoy Scouting. In my community I have served as a Cubmaster, Assistant Scoutmaster, and Committee Chair for many years. In the industry I have participated in the development of industry standards that directly impact wireline telephony, Cellular telephone, and the Internet. I also served as a missionary for two years.
