Hi I'm Karena.

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a stay-at-home mom, a singer, a novelist, and Primary President (in charge of the children's organization).

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because the gospel makes me happy to be alive. The best way I can describe my feelings about Christ and why I choose to live His gospel is describing a realization I had a few years ago. I was randomly thinking about one of my close friends who isn't Mormon. I imagined that if she and I came face to face with Jesus Christ, I would have to introduce her to our Savior. She wouldn't know Him, but I would. I would recognize Him instantly. This idea filled me with great joy and gratitude for my faith in Him. I believe He knows me personally. He is waiting to help me whenever I need Him, if I will humble myself and only ask in sincere prayer. He died for me so that my family and I can enjoy eternal life with Him and our Heavenly Father. I am so grateful for this knowledge, and I consider it a blessing to be able to choose to believe in Him. I hope anyone who is searching for happiness in this world can find the love and joy and hope I find through believing in Jesus Christ. I also choose to be a Mormon because I have a firm belief that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is truly His gospel, restored in these latter days. He needed someone to help Him restore it, and He chose Joseph Smith. I love my Savior and am so grateful for my testimony.

How I live my faith

Everyday I look for ways to instill in my children the basics of this gospel. I remind them they can always ask Heavenly Father & Jesus for help with a problem or if they need comfort. I remind them to pray to find something they've lost. I urge them to treat each other and others how they want to be treated themselves. I help them understand that if they live a Christ-centered life, they will be happy. I tell them that going to church and choosing this way of life makes me a better person and helps me learn ways to be a better mommy to them. I am the Primary President in our ward. The Primary is our church's children's organization, and I ensure that each age group has a Sunday School teacher and that classes are running smoothly. I also teach 15 min. lessons during the time when all the children are combined. It's a lot of work, but I am grateful for my calling! The children are a joy to work with, and it is very exciting and humbling to be an instrument in the Lord's hands to teach the children about Christ and help them build their testimonies.
