Hi I'm Ryan

I'm a fisherman, a bit of a joke, an all-American, and i am a Mormon.

About Me

For now, I am a Missionary serving in Houston, Texas. This Gospel has become so important to my life and I know now I want to live it always. Missionary work is very hard, and its breaking me from some...lets say bad habits.. things like chilling... I love to hang out, maybe a little too much. some times the best things are just hanging out with some old friends doing all sorts of nothing. on the other hand, i am from Utah, so take me up in the mountains and i would love to go wonder around for hours. you name it from hiking, climbing, to skiing and a some good old traditional sledding. some thing that is very important to me is my family. they are truly the perfect source for anything when i need it. they know how to rely well on the Savior and that provides me comfort. lets see, chilling, hiking...obviously i'm a big fisherman.. its all about the road trips and going to see the sites. this world has been given to us for our benefit, so i figure, why not enjoy the scenery right. i'm a big long board enthusiast, and i love listening to music while riding. some thing i've really aquired while on my mission is the enjoyment i find in running. i think the next big thing i need to do is go for a nice 26.2 mile run when i finish my mission. one of those things i need to accomplish before i die. you could say its on the bucket list.

Why I am a Mormon

I started out a Mormon for reasons i completely didn't understand. Maybe because my family is mormon and they had a big part in that. but about a week before my 20th birthday my Grandma asked me if i would like to serve a mission. At this point in my life i was in no place to go on a mission, or even had the desires to serve a mission. but for some odd reason i said yes. it took me about another 8 months or so before i decided it was time. i then prepared and got out here into the mission about a year after that event. while i've been here i've found out really why I'm Mormon. I am Mormon because this Gospel has helped me become who Jesus Christ wants me to become, and its helped me become the person i need to become. not because my family demands it, or because its just what i'm supposed to do.. but because i find true peace, happiness, joy, comfort from being in this church. I am in this church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because God has set it up to be this way. I want more than anything to follow the counsel of all Prophets and Apostles, and of course our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. Our loving Heavenly Father has given us everything we need in this church and i know that to be true. this is the way, and how much joy it brings to my life is unmeasurable. The Book of Mormon is pure evidence that this church is the church that God has set up for us. just give it one chance.

How I live my faith

i live my faith day to day. its not one of those things where i throw up my hands and say i have faith and its all done. its a complete and 100% process. Continually striving to become the person Christ has asked us to become. My Faith brings me so much happiness and joy and i want to maintain that happiness always. My faith in the Savior has brought me so much peace in my life. i do make mistakes. i do slip up. i accidently fall into temptation. but we all do. And i know that i will overcome it all. but its always going to be a process. but honestly i love to have fun, and enjoy life, and enjoy the blessings the Lord has given us. and as i continue to realize that more and more it shows me a good example or way of how to build faith.
