Hi I'm Tim

I fly fish and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to spend time with my family. We especially enjoy the out of doors and fishing. My wife and I have three sons. We currently live the the Smoky Mountains of western North Carolina.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family where my parents both joined the church as teenagers. Growing up I was in an area where the church memebership was still a bit spread out and I was the Mormon in the crowd. It has never been hard to share my beliefs or to live up to them. The teachings of the church are the teachings of Jesus Christ from the bible. It all makes sense to me and I can feel and see the effects of a Loving Heavenly Father in the teachings of the church. I have had the experience of family and friends who have succumbed to addictions, some have overcome them and others are still in a battle with them, but none have been given up on. I believe in a God who not only wants us to return to Him but who has given us a way to do that. We have to do our part and be worthy of that gift but we are not alone in our journey. I know that God lives and that His son Jesus Christ, lived, died and lives again for us. I am thankful for the Prophet Joseph Smith and the courage that he had to seek for the truth and to share it as an insturment in God's hands. I am grateful for the atonement of Jesus Christ and opportunity it gives me to correct my wrongs and put them behind me. I know that through Jesus Christ all things are possible.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by serving others. I try to live the things that I say I believe. I work with Boy Scouts and the youth organizations. I have volunteered time for organizations sponsered both by the church and sponsered by the communtity, and other groups. I have coached youth sports teams, and have worked with groups like "Casting for a Cure", "wounded warrior" and others, where we use fly fishing to involve people in activites that they thought were beyond their reach becasuse of illness or injuries. I always take away more than I was able to give when working with these groups and meeting people with such a will to not let life get them down.
