Hi I'm Cory

I'm a son, a friend, a sports and outdoorsy kinda guy, I'm way too sarcastic sometimes, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am from Maryland, I have done 1 year of University in Utah, I love all sports especially baseball or anything with a ball in it. I love being active, being outside and hanging with friends. I also love talking to anyone and everyone i meet. I am currently in beautiful British Columbia Canada. I really like food, family, friends, I love life, and i love the Lord.

Why I am a Mormon

I was lucky enough to be born and raised in the Church, but even though I was born in the faith there came a time in my life when i did not really believe. I did not really care about Church or the gospel, it did not sound like fun, but rather it sounded restricting. I was given rules that I did not understand. There came a time in my life when I hit a crossroads. As I was growing up the people I knew started doing things that I was told not to do, with drugs, alcohol, and they the were making some choices i would not make. I noticed how these things started controlling and changing their lives. But I was still not sure about God. It took time, prayer, patience and some pain to find out for myself that in reality God is real. I see now that the Lord was helping me out the whole time, he was preparing me I was being guided and directed and though I did not know at first why things were they way they were, now it has been made clear and i have received answers to my questions and i no longer wonder. I know now with all of my heart that Jesus Christ lives, and that he loves me, that there is a prophet on the earth to help protect us. I now see how the gospel of Jesus Christ sets you free, and brings lasting happiness, peace and hope.

How I live my faith

I am a missionary, which means that I pay to go somewhere in the world for 2 years and teach anyone and everyone about Jesus Christ and the happiness and peace that comes in and through Him and what He has done for us. I invite people to come unto Jesus Christ to feel and discover for themselves the cleansing and purifying effect the Gospel of Jesus Christ can have on them, and I love every second of it.

Why do Mormons perform baptisms for the dead?

The Gospel of Jesus Christ is faith, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end. All of these are absolutely necessary for everyone who has ever or will ever live. The problem is that not everyone who has ever lived has had the chance to hear or accept the Gospel of Jesus Christ, for those who did not know about this while on earth it is not fair that they get condemned and the Lord knew that this would happen so he has set up a plan at physical death, when we die, our bodies and our spirit separate for a time, our spirits goes on and continues to learn and grow, everyone will have a a opportunity to hear and to accept the Gospel of Jesus Christ, for those that do accept they still need to be baptized by someone holding the priesthood authority of God, so someone can perform a baptism by proxy for them and it is their choice to either accept it or not, they still have there freedom to chose. This shows just how much God really does love all of his children. Show more Show less
