Hi I'm Daniela

I'm from Chile, currently living in United States. I'm a crazy math lover. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm originally from Chile, but currently living in United States. I've been here for a couple of years. It has been an adventure that has required some stretching and going out of my very comfort zone. I came to the States without knowing any English. I had the opportunity to learn the language and start college. I graduated with an associate's degree from LDS Business College and now going through my bachelor's degree in Math Education at Brigham Young University. I guess all the previous describe my love for learning and my past, present, and future as a math nerd lover. I'm currently single, but enjoying my time as the youngest unmarried sibling from eight. My family, especially my parents, mean all to me. I feel grateful to take care of my parents and have them as my best friends.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents became members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints before I was born. So, I pretty much grew up with these beliefs. While growing up and learning more about life, I discovered that not all the people thought the same way as my family. It was shocking that not all people were members of my church. Why? I had been so happy, and I was sure it was because we lived the principles that the same Jesus taught when He was on earth. I started to think more about my own belief. Did I go to church because I wanted? Or because my parents wanted me to go? Because it was part of my routine? I discovered by myself that what I heard all my life was true. I read the Book of Mormon and prayed about it. The answer came, or probably it was there all the time. I received an assurance that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me and that we have a Savior, Jesus Christ, that came to this world to show us the example to follow and to atone for our sins, heart aches, sicknesses, etc. I know He is there, not just for me but for all of those that come to Him. Since that day my testimony became real and keeps growing daily while praying to my Heavenly Father, reading the scriptures, and going to the different church meetings.

How I live my faith

Three years ago, I had the opportunity to give some service in the beautiful small country of Uruguay. I was there for 18 months. I love the people over there. They have become a part of my life. I shared my beliefs on a daily basis and even though some people seemed not interested some times, I still continued looking for those that wanted to hear. Once I came back to a "normal life," I kept sharing my beliefs. This time not as a missionary, but as a daughter, sister, friend, neighbor, student, etc. I think that the love of Christ can be reflected through us. If sometimes we don't see miracles in our lives, we can be the miracle in others' life.

How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Daniela
When I think about this, it always come to my mind the idea of cooking a delightful dish. I can prepare it for others, or tell you how delicious it is. However, the only way to receive satisfaction from this dish and taste the precious flavor is by trying it by yourself. To get to know our Heavenly Father we need to act. Talk to Him through prayer, and just as we talk to our father on earth talk to our Heavenly Father for an assurance of His love and truths. Another part of the action required is to keep God's commandments that will bring you closer to Him and receive an assurance that He lives. Show more Show less
