Hi I'm Mark

I grew up in Chicago. I am a dad of two young boys. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I live in a small coal mining town. I am 27 years old. My wife Laura and I have two boys, a 3 and 1 year old. I work as a civil engineer designing public transportation, drinking water, and sanitation projects. Life is busy, but being a Mormon has helped me stay away from distractions and focus on what matters most.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I found it to be the only way my family can be together for eternity. I couldn't imagine life after death without my family. I know God still loves his children, and wants us to know how to return to him in Heaven. I know he has called prophets today to let us know what we need to do. God hasn't let us alone so he has given us the Bible and other books like the Book of Mormon to testify of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

My family and I try our best to live our faith to he fullest. We try to read the scriptures each day, and pray morning and night. We go to church each Sunday. My wife works with the young women of the church. She teaches lessons on Sunday, and helps with activities during the week. I teach lessons on Sunday for Sunday school. Studying the scriptures for my lessons helps me feel the Spirit and stay close to Heavenly Father. Some tell me that my church is a lot of work, and they are right. It takes time and dedication to be an active Mormon. But, I look at it this way. If by being an active, faithful member of God's true church brings God's choicest blessings, I will do whatever it takes. I figure that since God works hard on me and never gives up, I should do the same for Him.
