Hi I'm Logan

I'm a husband, a father, a student, I'm 22 and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student, I fly small airplanes, I have my locksmith license, my lifeguard certification, I am an Eagle Scout, and am fluent in Brazilian Portuguese. I love doing all these things. I love to live my life to the fullest, and I believe that can be done without any regrets.

Why I am a Mormon

I love my family. Since I was small, my parents have taught me about the life and work of Jesus Christ. I have come to love him. The love I felt for and from my family, became a living reflection of the love of Christ in my life. Now that I am married and have a son of my own, I can't imagine what it would be like to give him up, as our Father in Heaven gave up his son, Jesus Christ, for you and me. I am a Mormon, because I know that as I do my best to follow Christ, I have the hope and the promise that I will never have to give up my son, or any of those that I love. I have the hope of being happy in this life, and happy forever. That's why I, am a Mormon

How I live my faith

Jesus Christ once counseled that those who want to follow him should serve others. As a Mormon, I have had many chances to do just that. I was a leader in the young mens organization in my city for a year, and I loved it. I worked as a scoutmaster and an activities coordinator for a group of about 10 boys. Helping them with their personal and spiritual growth was an incredible learning experience. From 2007 to 2009, I was a full-time missionary in the great country of Brazil. It was there that I learned to speak Portuguese, and I met the woman who would one day be my wife. Walking the streets of Sao Paulo, one of the largest cities in the world, I remember how amazed I was to see the hand of God in the lives of the most obscure and lonely people. I learned that God truly loves his children, no matter where they are from, or what choices they have made. Currently, I look after two other families that are studying at the same university that I am. I go by once or twice a month to see how they are doing, if they need any help, and to leave a short spiritual lesson. It is a wonderful calling, and reminds me of my time as a missionary.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

No. All young men ages 19 to 26 are strongly encouraged to be worthy and willing to go. My two older brothers and I all were missionaries for two years each. And my wife and sister in law also were missionaries. We all agree that it was a PRIVILEGE to carry the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to others. So, no, Mormons are NOT required to serve missions. There is no punishment if you don't. But I would have missed out on two of the happiest, fullest years of my life, if I hadn't gone.
