Hi I'm Kate C.

I'm a Psychology student, I'm a Musician, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to have fun! I've been singing since I was 7 years old, living in the Fort Worth area of Texas. I grew up in a close community with many loving neighbors and there I realized my love for people. I am attending college in Idaho, studying Psychology and music, hoping to become a teacher someday and have a family of my own.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents have raised me in the church, but I still consider myself a convert. At a young age I felt that it was important I should pray at night and speak with God about what was happening in my life and thank him for my good family and good life. That connection I developed with God has proved to be the one that is most important. As a teenager I suffered from depression, anxiety and poor self-worth. I explored many ways to fill my need for approval or perhaps bring relief, but none of them ever satisfied me or lasted longer than a week before blowing up in my face. In class one day while I was 15, we were discussing the countless stars and numberless galaxies. Just as I was feeling more insignificant than a fleck of dust in the wind, the Holy Ghost told me of my eternal importance and significance in God's eyes. I am His daughter, I am here for a purpose and He knows me. He loves me and hears me. I know this to be true. My connection with my Father in Heaven is the element that puts a smile on my face every day. The original church that Christ organized while on earth has been restored in the latter-days. The fullness of His Gospel is here and is available to me as I strive to follow Christ's example and strengthen my connection with God. The blessings of the gospel are flowing continuously straight from heaven, all you have to do is open your arms and hearts to them. They will fill the holes in your hearts with peace and hope, as they have mine. Nothing makes me quite so happy as the promises I have made to God and the promises He keeps with me. That's why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

Currently I am serving the church as a full-time missionary!! I will be spending 18 months serving the Lord and His children away from my home, family and friends. I am currently serving in the islands of Hawaii! My experience here has been fantastic! Watching how the gospel changes lives of others, and having the opportunity to know and love these people--is truly a blessing in my life. It has strengthened my testimony tremendously and God continues to sustain me. During this time I am separated from those I love at home, but my family circle is only broadened out here on the islands! We spend all day visiting and teaching others, and sometimes knocking door to door--finding those who are ready to hear the message! This truly is His work! I couldn't do it if it were not! I need the Lord's help every step of the way!
