Hi I'm Rachel

I love animals! I am a teacher! I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I am the oldest of three girls and a recent college graduate who loves helping children learn. In my free time I like to do activities with my family and friends. My favorite activities include volleyball, hiking, swimming, and crocheting. My favorite animal is a cat. If I could own a wild cat it would be a white Siberian tiger.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because the Gospel of Jesus Christ brought my family together. It all started when two sister missionaries found my mom and she became a member, before I was born. After she married my dad,who was not a member, she continued to go to church. When we were little we went to church, but as she was going to school and working we were not able to go to church regularly. Years after she graduated and moved into our house, a senior missionary couple came over and asked if I wanted to take the lessons and become a member of the church. I said yes. My little sister also took them with me. As I was learning about the gospel I loved how everything made since I was not confused. When they said that families could be together forever I knew this is what I wanted. So my sister and I were baptized at the same time. I was 12 and she was 9. Then a few years later our youngest sister joined the church. Then finally after much fasting and prayer my dad became a member of the church. We were then blessed in 2005 to go to the Nashville Tennessee Temple to be sealed together for all time and eternity. I know that it is by being obedient to the Lords commandments, studying, and praying is how I came to know that the church is true. By doing this I was an example to my family. In return it helped them come to know for themselves that the church is true. As we all came to know for ourselves that this is Christ Church on earth today, we received the blessing of being sealed together forever.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being an example to those around me at school, home, work, and while shopping. I also live my faith by following the example of Jesus Christ through service. Christ served everyone. Different ways I have served include, teaching children the gospel, being a missionary, and visiting and serving other women in our congregation.

How can I know Mormonism is true?

You can know that Mormonism is true by doing three simple acts. 1st reading 2nd praying 3rd coming to church. 1st - As you read about the Book of Mormon with a desire to know if it is true the Holy Ghost will bear whiteness to you that it is. You do not have to read the whole book in the beginning to know if it is true. Some of my favorite chapters to read are 1. Introduction 2. 2Nephi 31 page 112-115 3. 3Nephi 11 page 427-430 2nd - After reading do as Moroni10 3-5 says to do. Pray with a sincere heart and real intent to know that these things are true. 3rd - In addition to reading and praying come to church and learn more. Tell your Mormon neighbor that you want to come and they will be more than happy to give you a ride, or you can follow them to church. I promise you that as you do these things with the real intent of knowing whether the church is true, the Lord will give you and answer.  Show more Show less
