Hi I'm Felipe

I'm a Scouter, Rock Climber, Mountaineer, Mountain Biker, Hiker, a Capoeira, a student and best of all; I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I grew up in Brazil where I learned to love the outdoors, I spent most of my time on the beaches of Rio de Janeiro. My dad started a Scouting Unit and I joined as a Cub Scout and went on many outings with him where I leaned to love the mountains and best of all Scouting. When I came to the USA at around 11 years old I immediately joined the Boy Scouts. As a Youth I was extremely active in Scouting putting an average of 40 hours a week in Scouting, Working on council Level camps that I started to obtaining Training for Committee chair to, Cub Scout, Boy Scout, Varsity and Venturing Scouting and giving leader specific training to Varsity and Venturing scout adult leaders all around the Council. I also attended NYLT got my Brotherhood in the Order of the Arrow, my Eagle Scout and started the Council Venturing Youth Committee where I chaired and organized 5 yearly events. when I turned 18 I attended Woodbadge. Today I'm still very active in Scouting. I'm Currently going to school to be a Nurse. I spend most of my free time outdoors backpacking, Downhill Mountain Biking, Snowboarding, Geo-caching, Ham Radio, Capoeira, Mountaineering and Rock Climbing. I travel all around the western region of the USA Climbing; anywhere from Donner Summit, Big Chef, Bishop California, Cottonwood Canyon in Utah to the beautiful Big walls of Yosemite!! My biggest dream is to climb the tallest peaks in the world and to spend my entire life enjoying Mother Nature and the things that God created for me.

Why I am a Mormon

The reason I'm a member of His church is because I know its Gods restored Church on the earth today!! and many will ask...how do you know that? For many reasons: First because this church helps me do good things, its not a idle but an active church. Its also because I have read the Holy Bible and specially the Book of Mormon. After I read this things and I prayed to God in the name of the Son if this things that I read was true. The Holy Spirit testified to me in my heart that it is true. This was a felling so good and full of love, that I cant denied it. This means that even do Im not perfect if I use the Mercy of God and His eternal sacrifice, that even a imperfect person like myself I will one day see God again and return to his presence

How I live my faith

If I have to describe how I live my faith in one sentence I would say: I live my faith by living the Scouting Values (The Scout Oath, Law, Motto, slogan and the Outdoor code). When I turned 19 I served a mission for two years, where I was able to help people come closer to Christ and also simply helping people on times of need. I Volunteered at the American Red Cross, Food Pantries and sup kitchens. I also help others in time of emergency as a Emergency Radio operator... I think the moral of this is that I serve my God by simply serving his children.
