Hi I'm Dylan Powell

I'm goofy child at heart, i love to work with my hands to creat new things, i love the out doors, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in a small town in Utah. I was home schooled until high school. While growing up my parents taught me how to work hard, with my hands, and how to think. They instilled in me a love of creating new things. They also taught me how to live in the moment and find beauty all around me. I love welding and working on my car. I also love learning how to do new things. I am always learning.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon mostly because I had the opportunity to pray and feel the spirit of the lord tell me so. As I have continued with the church, I have seen how it helps others and how it has helped me as well. I have learned things about my savior in so much depth and I can see his influence in my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith mostly by "doing." I’ve heard people say it is hard living the standards the church, but what I have found in my life is if I just do it--live the standards--without thinking about it or complaining then it isn't difficult and it actually helps in other ways. I know at times it is hard getting up really early in the morning to help your neighbor whose house is flooding, but if you just do it you can change someone’s life and in the process change your own.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Dylan Powell
I definitely believe there is a prophet on the earth today. The reason I believe this is because it makes sense. God loves us just as much as he loved the people in the past and we still need him in our lives today. God is not a changeable God, he still speaks to us today the same way he did in times of old. Also, the counsel the prophet gives us is from God and if we follow it, then we will be blessed. I have listened to and followed the counsel and have received blessings in my life. That is how I know there is a prophet today Show more Show less

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Dylan Powell
I think the prophet Alma in the Book Of Mormon put it best when he said, "all things denote that there is a God" Alma 30:44 For a long time I was wondering the very thing "Is there a god?" I wondered this for a while and people told me there was one but I needed to know for myself. I did the only thing I knew how to do -- I prayed about it -- and I felt like there was. That feeling has stuck with me since then. Now every time I go hiking. I like to sit out on a cliff at the top and just stare out over the valley and really look at how beautiful the planet is. Every time I do I think that someone had to have made all of this, this could not be some random thing that just happened. The world is too beautiful for that to be true. Show more Show less
