Hi I'm Jonathan

I'm So. Cal born and raised. I love all things music. I love spending time with my family. I'm a Mormon

About Me

I come from a pretty good size family who have been members of the LDS Church for a long time. I absolutely love my family and think that they are the best people ever. My Grandfather was a musical performer so music has been a huge part of my life. I can't ever remember a time when we weren't singing or playing some instrument at home. I also love playing sports and being outside. I went to college for a year but then decided to take a break for two years to serve the Lord as a full-time Spanish speaking missionary in Texas.

Why I am a Mormon

I am Mormon because of the guidance that the Church gives me in my life. Growing up in Southern California I didn't have a lot of friends that were very religious or even believed in God. I have seen many of my friends lose their way and get involved in things that only destroy one's future. When I was young my parents always took me to church and I really didn't have a choice on if I went or not. But as I got older I saw the things that were happening to my friends, and how because I had been brought up learning the teachings of Jesus Christ and trying to follow them that I didn't have some of the same problems, I decided that this was the best choice for me and my life. I have seen the blessings that come from living the teachings of Christ and know that this is the only way to live in order to have peace of mind and lasting happiness in this life.

How I live my faith

Right now I live my faith by teaching others about Jesus Christ as a full-time missionary. But living your faith is more that just what church responsiblity you have. I try to live my faith everyday by praying to God and giviing him thanks for the things that he has done for me. I live my faith by studying his word found in the Scriptures. Most importantly I live my faith by trying be like my savior Jesus Christ.

Why do Mormons perform proxy baptisms in their temples?

Jonathan
Mormons perform proxy baptisms for those who have passed on to give all of God's children the chance to return to live with him. We understand from the scriptures that baptism is a necessary step to being able to be with God again, but history shows us how not all of God's children have had the chance to even hear about Jesus Christ or follow his teachings. God is our loving Heavenly Father and wants each of us to make it back to him, so he has provided this proxy baptism so that we all might have a chance to return to him. Show more Show less
