Hi I'm Alex

I am a girl from Utah, USA. I take pictures. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Utah and loved it there. I graduated high school and I am currently going to college and I love learning knew things. I enjoy taking photos and expressing my ideas through images. I also love caring for children and helping them reach their potential. I love learning knew languages and especially enjoy French. I hope to be able to travel someday to France and take in the wonderful differences in culture.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always been involved in this faith. My parents taught me from a young age all of the principles of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I was baptized when I was 8, as is custom in our religion. When I was 11 or 12, I had a dilemma. Things about the gospel just weren't making sense to me and my dad had decided to take a different path in life, which further confused me. Even though I had been brought up learning about the gospel, I had to come to my own conclusions about its truthfulness. I began to study and try applying the things that I had learned. My testimony has since slowly progressed, little by little, as I have continued to study and increase my knowledge of it. As I seek more earnestly to become like Jesus Christ, I can feel His love and His spirit influencing me. Feeling that love is like no other feeling and pushes me to continue following Him through being a member of the His church. I continue to learn new things everyday that help me in becoming more Christlike. I have a testimony that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is a church run by Christ and under the fullness of His gospel. The church as an institution may not be perfect because the people in it are imperfect, but His gospel is perfect and His gospel is what the church is founded on. I also have a testimony of Joseph Smith. I know that translated the Book of Mormon. Because I believe that Joseph Smith was a true prophet, I also believe that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and another testament, in addition to the Bible, of Jesus Christ and His divinity. I know that God loves each of His children and because of this love He was willing to let His only begotten son atone for each of us so that we can repent and live with Him again. I know that God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost are separate entities that work together under one purpose. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ and I am so grateful to have it in my life.

How I live my faith

Currently I am a student. Because of my age I am put into a ward with young single adults. I am serving as an activity director for the women of our ward. Because we get many new students in the ward each semester, I may have opportunities to serve in many different capacities. Many times our ward will get together and go and perform service for different people in the community. Once we raked leaves and helped an elderly woman take care of her yard. I think that truly living the gospel is in the little decisions and acts of charity that we perform each day. How I live my faith is by trying each day to become more like Christ in the way that I treat people and my fulfilling my duties and assignments the best that I can.
