Hi I'm Emily

I love art, nature and philanthropy. I recently started working in the non-profit sector and love supporting positive movements.

About Me

I love art history, printing, typography and graphic design. I also enjoy baking, yoga and being outside. I haven't yet married, but it has always been a dream of mine. I love throwing parties. I love helping people connect and have a good time. I love autumn and cozy, quiet afternoons. Professionally, I work for a non-profit which is working to strengthen families through reinforcing positive behaviors. I learn so much from the people I work with who deal with many different issues in their families. I love learning about all of the positive things happening in the world. There is so much heartache, but also, so much joy through overcoming challenges. I am eager to travel more and learn about new places and cultures.

Why I am a Mormon

I love this church. It's teachings have kept me from danger, helped me overcome sadness and led to peace and fulfillment. I have served others and others have served me with a love that I know could only come from my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. They have been my support and have been my friends when no one else could be there. I love them and know they love me. I have been blessed with loving parents who taught me to keep the commandments from a young age. I continue to follow the gospel of Jesus Christ because I know it's true. I know the Book of Mormon is true and I study it every day.

How I live my faith

I pray and rely on the Bible and Book of Mormon along with listening to the leaders of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to find answers for everyday problems. I rely on Jesus Christ as my Savior to overcome challenges and repent of my sins. I try to serve others in the way that He would have me serve because of my gratitude to Him for all He did for me. I live a quiet and industrious life, believing that we are responsible to become the best we can become through our own efforts and through the grace of Jesus Christ. I also enjoy nature and feel gratitude that we live in such a beautiful and amazing world.

What is being a Mormon like?

When I really try to do what I feel is right, through study and prayer, I feel happy. So, being a Mormon may require sacrifice in some ways, but I feel that the happiness and peace that comes through living the commandments of God and of the prophets, is worth all the sacrifice. I really enjoy the rewarding relationships that I gain through being a member of this church. I also feel grateful that the guidelines set in place have helped me to make good choices in my life and also to help others who have questions about life. Show more Show less
