Hi I'm Michael

I'm a Mormon. and Scott is my friend!

About Me

I recently returned to school to obtain a Liberal Studies Degree and a Teaching Credential to teach High Schol Special Needs kids. I have a passion for helping those with special needs to find the best possible way to communicate intellectually and spiritually with others as well as helping them to better understand themselves and the blessing that eah and every one of them has in our lives.

Why I am a Mormon

I recall after a football game my friend Rich and I went back to his house to get ready to attend my first church dance with him and when we got to his house we were interrupted at the door while his family was having their evening family prayer. Growing up in a Catholic household and though there are some Catholic households that pray the Rosary together every evening my family was not one of them and the practice of evening family prayer was completely foreign to me. Still unaware of what “that something” I had knew that whatever it was that this family has I knew that I wanted “that same something” for myself and all I had to go on was that they were Mormon’s, whatever that was. Not knowing what a Mormon was that night I went home and utilized everything at my disposal to find out what a Mormon was, mainly the encyclopedia. I came across the name of the church which was The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and Joseph Smith. Excited to know more I called my friends mom to let her know that I was eager to find out more and had gotten information about my town’s local meeting times. His mom had went to the same junior college that her son and I were attending and it was at that same school the she herself had met a member of this great church and had felt “that something” that prompted her to join the church. I attended church that following Sunday and was quickly introduced to the missionaries. That Sunday I learned more about Joseph Smith and had finally found out what “that something” was, the Spirit of the Lord. Wanting to feel “that something” again I met with these young missionaries several times over the next two weeks and it was two weeks to that first Sunday that I was baptized and confirmed a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I am forever grateful for this young man and his family and the testimony that they have of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to raise their family in this great church and that is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I have a passion for missionary work. I pray for opprtunities to meet others so that I may share how the Gospel of Jesus Christ has blessed and changed my life. I find that living a gospel based life I am able to mention the church in every conversation that I have with others. I also enjoy getting to know the new single members and help them to build a gospel based life. To surround themselves with activities and others that share our same standards so that they to can share in the blessings that this Gospel has to offer.
