Hi I'm Marie

I’m a wife, an accountant and I’m a Mormon.

About Me

I’m the youngest of five children raised by a single working mother. Watching my mother go back to school to get a college education (while raising 5 kids) inspired me to continue my education after high school. I am now an accountant and bought my first home when I was 23. I married my wonderful husband at 27 and we’re planning to have a large family.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised a Mormon but there came times in my life where it was hard for me to keep going to church. I struggled with depression throughout my entire teen years and half of my twenties. There would be times when I decided that I would stop going to church. I thought if I stopped going then God would be convinced that my lot in life was too hard. However, my faith never gave up on me. During those times I kept reading my scriptures and saying my daily prayers. When Sunday rolled around, I knew where I needed to be. As I came to rely on the Lord’s help, I rose above the depression that held me captive for so many years. I’m now happy when I wake up in the morning. It’s no longer a struggle to smile. My life never got easier, I just became stronger. I’m a Mormon, because I know God is there and loves me and this is where he wants me to be.

How I live my faith

I don't really think of my life being that different from everyone else. I get up in the morning, I go to work, I eat, and I sleep. I enjoy a lot of recreational activities that many people of other faiths enjoy bicycling, hiking, swimming, volleyball, movies, etc. I guess what sets me apart is that I have never tasted alcohol, never smoked, and I've never sworn. I have personal prayer with my Heavenly Father in the morning and at night. I can't go to sleep until I've read my scriptures. And I go to church every Sunday for 3 hours. I try to be honest in all aspects of my life and I pray to my Father in Heaven when I need comfort or guidance.
