Hi I'm Cameron

I grew up in Portland Oregon, I'm a dancer, a returned missionary from Japan, a student at BYU Idaho and a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently a student at BYU Idaho, and am planning on majoring in exercise physiology with a focus in program development. I absolutely love dancing, and doing anything fitness related. I have been dancing since I was 13 years old, and prefer Ballet, Contemporary, Modern, Jazz, and African. I served a mission in Japan so I can, and love speaking japanese. I can also do Japanese and American sighn language. I love running, lifting weights, reading, singing, Jujitsu, Manga, candy, volunteering, and the list never ends. Because of the knowledge I have been blessed with, my life is full of joy, and nothing can take this joy from me.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church, and the whole time I grew up my family had an incredible feeling of peace, and love that everyone who visited could feel. Friends would come and never want to leave saying: "I feel such peace, and safety here. I don't want to go home." This same spirit is what always caused me to feel in my heart that this was true. I didn't know why I knew that what my family did, and believed was true, but I knew it so strongly that nothing could get me to deny it. I had doubts, and I struggled, but when push came to shove and I was asked if I knew the church was true or not, there was no power in me that could possibly say no. I knew it was true. When I would bear my testimony, I would be nervous, but as I would speak an incredible power that I can only describe as an immense light inside would fill me with such happiness that I can never help but smile, and know without a doubt that what I was saying was true. It took a while, but little by little I came to realize that the power of love and peace in my family, the very power that told me every day that the church is true was the power of the Holy Ghost blessing my family and testifying to me. By that same power I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is God's true church here on earth, and is instituted for the joy and salvation of all mankind.

How I live my faith

On our missions we agree to follow a strict set of rules that I believe are supposed to be a foundation for habits that we are supposed to continue for the rest of our lives. Obviously we are to adapt those practices to normal life, and that is exactly what I have done. My mission changed me in incredible ways. I loved the incredible spirit, and purity I felt during my mission, and I work hard to keep that spirit in my life now as a college student. I keep all the commandments that keep me safe from pain and sorrow, and love to serve everyone I can because it brings such joy to my life. I keep a remembrance of God and my Savior Jesus Christ in my life at all times, and I then feel their love for me, and all those around me, even more.
