Hi I'm Phil R.

I am a husband, father of four, an optometrist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Phil, and I am a husband to a wonderful wife, father to four young children, optometrist by profession, and Mormon by choice.

Why I am a Mormon

I choose to be a Mormon because it brings peace and understanding to my individual life in the midst of a large complicated world. Being a Mormon allows me to better understand the love that our Heavenly Father has for not only me, but all of mankind. Being a Mormon has brought me the knowledge that my family can be eternal, remaining together forever.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to be better today than I was yesterday. Sometimes I accomplish this goal and often I fall short. However, I understand that through the Atonement of our Savior Jesus Christ, I can be forgiven of my sins, imperfections, and shortcomings. The Savior himself provided the perfect example that I strive to follow. By showing love, compassion, charity, and hope to those around me through my words and actions, regardless of their religious beliefs, I can feel the spirit and be a better person.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Phil R.
My believe in God is reaffirmed as I learn both in spiritual and intellectual matters. I personally believe that the world often attempts to remove God completely from everyday life because we, as mankind, don't fully understand the complexity of our wonderful world. Some individuals may take the stance that there is no god, or a god would have better things to be concerned with that his/her individual life. I personally conceded a long time ago that I would never be able to comprehend the Lord's abundance of beautiful works, or the depravity of some men's actions. Nevertheless, I attempt to see and acknowledge my creator's hand in the marvels around me. I see the existence of God in the blessings of being a father, at my work as an eye doctor regarding the marvels of human eyesight, and at church as I feel the comfort of the spirit soothing my sometimes troubled thoughts. As I seek to acknowledge the Lord in my life, my life is better because of it! Show more Show less
