Hi I'm Mike

I'm an Urban Transportation Planner, a Civil Engineer, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a Civil Engineer, and I spend most of my work time in transportation planning. I have three boys, two girls, then another boy, ranging from 14 years old to 2. My wife is a fantastic mother. Our house is LOUD! It feels like living in a monkey cage. It is frustrating and fantastic at the same time. It wears me out, but it is worth it.

Why I am a Mormon

Obvious answer: I was born in Rural Utah, where I suppose about 95 of folks are born LDS. The Real answer: I LOVE IT! I was once a quasi-agnostic, not sure if God was real. Then I discovered that He is indeed real in a fantastic, supernatural way! (see my paper boy story). I eventually found that the gospel I was lucky enough to be born into is indeed the best place to connect with God. My life has been so wonderful, and my mind so enlightened, because I have chosen to participate actively as a Latter-Day Saint.

How I live my faith

A friend who is on hard times needed his yard and basement finished to help protect some of his equity in case he is forced to sell. So I organized members from my neighborhood to do the work this past summer. We also helped rebuild a retaining wall that fell over at another neighbor's house.
