Hi I'm Rachel

I'm a wife, a daughter, a college student, a travel enthusiast, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I just got married to my life-long best friend and we both attend school. I am currently on my way to a bachelors in Chemistry with a plan to teach the subject to high school students. I spent one year living in Pisa, Italy and traveling all of Europe, and have many more plans of travel in the future. I love to sing, play the piano, and musical theatre has always been my favorite hobby. Future plans include making a difference in the lives of future students, starting a family of my own, and traveling the world.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up under the influence of two faithful parents who not only taught me the principle of Christ, the joys of the church, but also what it means to be a good person in this world. Although I constantly worked on my personal testimony of Christ and his church throughout my teenage and adult years, my faith was confirmed when I left my home and family for a year to live in Italy and spent time with the faithful members there. Their faith inspired my study and heartfelt prayers that resulted in an unshakable faith. Being totally committed to Christ and his commandments has brought me joy I have found no where else, and this joy only seems to grow. I always knew, through personal revelation, that Joseph Smith saw God the Father and his Son and wrote the Book of Mormon. I give a personal witness that Christ is our Savior, and he knows and loves me and you.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by loving my neighbor, meaning everyone around me. Understanding that all people are different and live their lives differently I strive to befriend all who enter my life and show them compasssion and love. I love teaching children about Christ thorugh music, their pure spirits show me that Christ lives.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

I have seen beauty in this world that can only testify of not only a creator, but a creator who takes care and loves his creations. The high walls of the Swiss Alps, the endless fields of wild flowers, the glacier lake at the bottom of the mountains, the many petals of a rose, the tiny specks of color in a baby's eye. All of these testify God lives. Show more Show less

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

Everything we own, EVERY THING on this Earth that we have in our pocession is the given to us by the Lord. My car, my home, my clothes, my money are the Lord's. He is only asking me 10 back of what increase I am given from him. That is not a whole lot. I have also found that tithing of 10 is not about money, it's about faith. His church will continue to exist with out my 10, or with anyone's for that matter, but it cannot exist without the faith of it's members. We show a part of our faith by giving a small portion of what we are given. Show more Show less
