Hi I'm Marshall

I am an Idaho country boy. I am a father. I am a medical student and I am Mormon.

About Me

I am originally from Idaho. I am a family man. I have a beautiful wife a baby girl and I could not be happier! Right now I am a medical student and am loving working with people who are sick and trying to learn how to make them better. I love learning and the arts as well as sports and outdoor activities of all kinds.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Latter-day Saint because I took the challenge to question and to pray. I read the Book of Mormon and the promise in Moroni chapter 10 verses 3-5 which tells us that truth will be manifest to us if we pray by the feelings of the Holy Ghost. After reading and thinking about the scriptures and about Joesph Smith I prayed many times to know if this was the true church and if the Book of Mormon was truly God's word given to us for instruction. I felt a wonderful, joyous feeling that is difficult to describe and I knew that the Book of Mormon is true and that this truly is Christ's church will the fullness of His gospel restored to His people through prophets like Joesph Smith. After this experience I continued to pray about teachings and doctrines taught by the Church's modern-day prophets and I felt that same happy, confirming feeling that is hard to describe. All these feelings together have made me sure that this Christ's church that He is directing today with all the knowledge and truth we need to live in such a way that we can return to live with our Father in Heaven with our families.

How I live my faith

Right now I teach the gospel to the 12 and 13 year old kids in my ward congregation. It is fun to see them get excited about a scripture story or to see them feel the spirit when I share that I know the scriptures are God's word given to us through prophets and that there is a prophet to lead us today just. I love to go out with the missionaries and share my story about how I came to know this is Christ's church with the fullness of the gospel. I have served a mission for two years in South-East Asia teaching people about their Savior and I hope to go on another mission with my wife as soon as we are able.

What is done with the tithing that Mormons pay?

Tithing is used to build and maintain church buildings like our meeting houses and temples. Temples are used to perform ordinances that are sacred to us like marriages. Tithing is also used carefully for all the needs of the church and for humanitarian efforts.  Show more Show less
