Hi I'm Kassandra,

And I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest of two, I have one older brother who has many disabilities. I have a mom and dad who divorced last year, I have two dogs, 2 birds, and a fish. two years ago i was a typical teenager, going to school had two best friends, and life was excellent. At least I thought it was. My sophomore year of high school I met a girl who changed my life forever, i just didn't know at the time. We got to know each other in our math class, and one day she invited me to young womens. and ever since then my curiosity went, and i just wanted to know more. when i was younger my mom would take me any my brother to church we were Evangelical and i remember having the questions of "How do we know that this is true, when so many other religions believe the same thing?" I remember asking these questions and getting no answer from anyone. I started going to church and young womens ever week, and then taking the missionary discussions and before i knew it i knew that i was ready to get baptized. i didn't just believe in the church, i KNEW that everything about it was true. On may 23rd 2009, I was baptized, was then a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. and that day almost two years ago was the best, and happiest day of my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I had no more questions. No more questions of "what if?" or "How do I know that thats right?" I have questions, but they are questions to know more, and to add to the things i know already to make my testimony stronger. I know that this church is true, I have seen the changes that it has made in my life along with others lives. I know that Joseph Smith is a true prophet, that he was sent here to make it possible for all of us to hear and to read the words of the Book of Mormon. I know that President Monson, and all the previous prophets along with all people called to serve in the church are chosen from Heavenly Father. I know that everything in the Book of Mormon is true, I have read it all the way through, and if you ask before reading it to show you its true meaning and you pray to have understanding you will soon understand and realize that what is before you is the truth. This Gospel means everything to me, If I didnt have this gospel or church in my life I would be a very different person. And for that I am very grateful.

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday, its not just a once a week type of deal. all week you have to work towards keeping all the commandments, keeping all the promises's you made the day you were baptized, daily prayer, and to be kinda and humble to all. The church has taught me how to love service, and how to help people. going every once and a while to help a family, or a ward member on something is what makes everything worth everything. I love my faith at home, at work, at school, when i go shopping, everywhere... because there is no reason for me to change who i am, depending where i am. I strive to live a full and virtuous life to the best of my ability.

What is the Church’s position on abortion?

Kassandra,
A worried woman went to her gynecologist and said: 'Doctor, I have a serious problem and desperately need your help! My baby is not even 1 year old and I'm pregnant again. I don't want kids so close together. So th e doctor said: 'Ok and what do you want me to do?' She said: 'I want you to end my pregnancy, and I'm counting on your help with this.' The doctor thought for a little, and after some silence he said to the lady: 'I think I have a better solution for your problem. It's less dangerous for you too.' She smiled, thinking that the doctor was going to accept her request. Then he continued: 'You see, in order for you not to have to take care 2 babies at the same time, let's kill the one in your arms. This way, you could rest some before the other one is born. If we're going to kill one of them, it doesn't matter which one it is. There would be no risk for your body if you chose the one in your arms. The lady was horrified and said: 'No doctor! How terrible! It's a crime to kill a child! 'I agree', the doctor replied. 'But you seemed to be OK with it, so I thought maybe that was the best solution.' The doctor smiled, realizing that he had made his point. He convinced the mom that there is no difference in killing a child that's already been born and one that's still in the womb. The crime is the same! Together we can help save precious lives! "Love says I sacrifice myself for the good of the other person. Abortion says I sacrifice the other person for the good of myself..
