Hi I'm Don

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I work as an IT Desktop Support Specialist and have done that for the last 10 years. Before that I worked in retail auto parts for 20 years quite a change of careers!. I enjoy camping, muscle cars and hot rods, dancing, target shooting, cooking, reading, movies, do-it-yourself home projects, woodworking, traveling and many other things. I am divorced and am active in the Single Adults program. I don't have any children but enjoyed my step children while married. I enjoy working with the youth at church as well.

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church in 1993 after talking with a couple friends about the church and wanting to know more. I was taught by the missionaries and felt good about what they were teaching. One evening I was reading The Book of Mormon and came across a verse Alma 3216 and realized the only thing holding me back from being baptised was my stubborness. I decided to finally pray and ask if The Book of Mormon is true and if Joseph Smith Jr. is a Prophet. The moment I started praying I was overcome by a feeling of total love. I knew at that moment that it is true and that I was to be baptised. I know my Heavenly Father loves me and knows me. I have found so much joy in my membership, the things I have learned, and the way my life has changed for the good.

How I live my faith

As a member of the Church I have had the opportunity to do a lot of different things to serve. Currently I am a leader of our congregation's Sunday School. I also serve in our Single Adult's program organizing activities like dances conferences where we learn life skills, Gospel teachings and meet other singles barbecues and camp outs. I also have the opportunity to participate in service projects in the community. One in particular was helping to clean up after serious flooding a few years ago in Mason County. There is a great sense that comes from helping others!
