Hi I'm Brett Christie

I'm a normal everyday person...... and a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small rural town in Tasmania, Australia. It is because of this I have a great love for family, work and the outdoors. I moved to Brisbane when I was 17 and lived the beach life for a couple of years before heading off on a Mormon mission for 2 years in Hiroshima, Japan. After completing my mission I found the love of my life Kayla and got married. We have now been married for 4 years in which we have been blessed with two awesome children. We decided we would move back to Tasmania to raise our children. Once moving back to Tassie, I started studying business at university. I am now in my final year of my Business degree, majoring in Accounting and Japanese. I love to fish, dive and spend time outdoors with family and friends. I used to train mma with my brothers in Brisbane, and cant wait to start training again in Tassie soon. I love animals and used to work as a wildlife education officer at a zoo on the Gold Coast.

Why I am a Mormon

Both my parents dragged me along to church since I was a baby. I didnt really gain an understanding for myself until I was in my teenage years. It was then that I started to understand how fortunate I was to understand what life is and what its about. I am a Mormon because on many occasions I have studied and prayed to know the answers to questions, and they have been answered. I am a Mormon because I know by following the teachings of the savior and the modern day prophets, me and my family can have a better way of life, both here and in the next life!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending church each Sunday. At my local church, I serve as an Elder Quorum President. This requires me to oversee and preside over males over the age of 18 that have been ordained to the office of an Elder in the Priesthood. I also live my faith by being the best husband, father and friend I can be. To achieve this I ensure we spend quality time together reading scriptures, praying and playing.
