Hi I'm Greg

I'm a Graduate Student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a graduate student, earning my PhD in Astronomy. I am also an amateur astronomer I enjoy building and using telescopes. I also enjoy inviting others to look through my telescopes. I am currently single, but I hope to soon find the right person to marry.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was a child, I would attend church meetings with my parents. One memorable Sunday, our children's class sang a song in which the question is asked "Heavenly Father, are you really there?" I felt at that time a great desire to know for myself if my Heavenly Father was there. That evening, I prayed sincerely in my heart, to know if He was there. Such a peace filled my heart as I had never known. I knew from that moment that my Heavenly Father lives. Since that time, I have asked to know whether the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is God's true church. I have received the same answer. I know that the Church is true. In the same way, I have gained a testimony of the Prophet, Joseph Smith. I know that he was chosen by Jesus Christ, to restore His church. Throughout the many of the difficulties of life, this knowledge has helped me to stay close to God.

How I live my faith

I serve in church by helping to balance the finances of my local congregation. I also visit with my fellow members and discuss the gospel with them.

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, I believe that Grace is an absolute necessity for my salvation. Where we differ from other faiths is in our belief that we must do our part in order to qualify to receive Christ's Grace. We believe that we must do all that we can to serve God and our fellow man, and repent, whenever we make a mistake. When we do this, Christ grants us his Grace, which is the only way that we can return to live with Him again. Show more Show less
