Hi I'm Katie

I ballroom dance. I'm getting my PhD in chemistry. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I recently graduated with a bachelor's degree in chemistry. Now my husband and I are moving across the country to continue our educations as grad students me-chemistry PhD program, him-medical school. I was a French minor in college and spent a summer living in Toulouse, France. Reading, traveling, and eating macaron cookies (the French sandwich cookie of deliciousness, not the mound of coconut type) make me happy.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because it brings happiness and purpose to my life. To know that I can be with my husband forever, and that I will see my deceased grandparents again is so precious to me! I know that there is a God, and that He knows me better than I know myself. I know that He hears and answers our prayers, that He wants us to succeed and find happiness in this life. I know that God still speaks to us through His prophet, President Thomas S. Monson. I know that if we will adhere to his council, we will be happy. I know that Christ suffered for our sins, that he took upon all of our sorrows. I know that He overcame death and was resurrected, and that He lives today. The knowledge of all of these things means so much to me. It gives my life purpose greater than what I could give it alone.

How I live my faith

I try to do the small, daily things that prophets have asked of us-reading the scriptures and praying. My husband and I attend church each Sunday where we have the opportunity to learn more about the Gospel and to be spiritually uplifted.
