Hi I'm Kate.

I'm Chinese American. I'm a Texas mom of 4. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm Chinese American--my mom is from Taiwan and my dad was born in China but grew up in Alberta, Canada. I'm a Texas mom of 4. We have two boys, ages 9 and 5, and two girls, ages 7 and 2. I graduated in Math Education. I'm married to the world's best husband and father-I have the church and the gospel to thank for that! I enjoy playing the piano and reading, and the weekly highlights of Friday Family Movie Nights and Saturday Date Nights!

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I was born into the Church, I had to find out on my own whether or not the Church was true. When I was a teenager I wondered if the Book of Mormon was really from God. I had learned from a passage in the Book of Mormon, Moroni 104-5, that I needed to ask God to know the truth, and that God would answer me. So I prayed to know, and I received a confirmation from the Holy Ghost that yes, the Book of Mormon was the word of God. Since then I have had many experiences confirming that knowledge, that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is Christ's true church on the earth today. Living the gospel can be hard. But knowing that I'm a daughter of my Heavenly Father who loves me, and knowing that my family can be together forever, keeps me going. Heavenly Father is always there to comfort me and to guide me. Jesus Christ is always there to bear my burdens, and because of Him I can repent of my mistakes and become a little bit better every day.

How I live my faith

Every day I try to live my faith by being a good wife and mother. I'm blessed to be a stay-at-home mom and spend lots of time with our kids. I hope I'm setting a Christlike example for them to follow and in turn set an example for others. This year I'm teaching the 7 and 8-year-olds at church, and I love being able to share my testimony and love of Jesus Christ with my kids every week. I get to help prepare them to be baptized when they turn 8 years old. I also get to volunteer at the school and help kids who are struggling. It's a blessing to be able to give a little extra love to the kids and show them that I care about them.
