Hi I'm Morgan

I'm a student who loves learning, an artist who loves expressing and a Mormon who loves sharing.

About Me

I am currently a student studying Russian, Humanities, Visual Arts, and everything else that interests me. I'm the oldest of eight children and try to be a good example to them. My free time is spent drawing, reading, playing games, participating in sports, playing music, and talking with friends and family. I also love learning about other cultures and how they view the world.

Why I am a Mormon

Like many members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I was raised by parents who actively attend and participate in church meetings and activities. I learned by their example how I may live to be truly happy. I love and trust my parents, but my testimony of Jesus Christ and his restored gospel could not be founded on their experiences. I know, by my own experience, that Jesus Christ is our savior, that he is truly the Son of our Heavenly Father and received punishment for our sins so that we will not have to live in sorrow and guilt forever. Thanks to Jesus Christ we can change and be forgiven of our mistakes and be happy. I have learned that a family is worth living for and I want to be with them after this life is over. God loves us and because of the sacrifice of his son we will have the opportunity to live with Him and our families throughout all eternity. By the same power that I know that Jesus Christ is our savior, I know that he restored his gospel in our time through Joseph Smith and called him to be a prophet so that we might all know the fullness of the gospel of Christ. I know that God is real because I see his influence in my life and I receive answers to my sincere prayers. He blesses me to feel peace. He comforts me when I am sad or discouraged. He strengthens me when my faith is weak and gives me confidence to continue on. He is perfect and I know that I can trust him and I know that he loves me.

How I live my faith

I have found that the best way to live my faith is to follow the example of Jesus Christ. The scriptures say that Christ went about doing good. Christ set an example of serving others and that is something I try to do. For example I try to visit a rest home near where I live and spend time with the elderly people who live there. Although it is somewhat out of my comfort zone to begin a conversation with someone I do not know, I found that it can be a lot of fun getting to know these elderly people. I help them feel less lonely and they tell me about their lives. My own grandmother recently moved into a rest home and because she lives so far away I rarely get to see her. I trust that just as I visit other people's grandparents where I live, there are other people who will visit my grandmother where they all live. Serving others is one way I try to be more like my Savior.
