Hi I'm Alli Rice

I grew up in El Salvador. I'm attending school to become an art teacher and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a university student on my third year of school. Right now I'm studyin art education. I hope to one day be an art teacher. I've always loved art, I find that it's one of the best ways to express yourself. I also love the outdoors and just spending time with my friends and family.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I found the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day saints to be true. I've always wondered what my purpose here on earth was, and what would happen after I died. I wondered if I would ever see my family again, or if our time on earth together was all we had. The church answered all these questions for me better than anyone else had. I've also found that I became much happier after I began to practice the standards of the church. I feel a deep sense of hope, and that my life now has purpose and meaning. I feel guided in my steps on this earth. I've been a member of the church all my life. However, there have been times when I wasn't as true to its teachings as I should've been. And I have to say that these were the lowest, most depressing times of my life. I began to feel as though life had no purpose. I began to wonder what the point of being alive was. However, as I slowly began to do what's right, I became happier and I realized that not only does life mean so much, but our time here matters. We are here to build families and to serve others. Without friends and family, where would any of us be? It's nice to know that we will have them forever. Heavenly Father has helped me overcome many challenges. I know that if He hadn't been there to comfort and guide me through my trials, I probably would've never overcome them. There is no need to go through life alone. Heavenly Father is waiting with open arms. Run to Him.

How I live my faith

I attend church with my husband almost every Sunday sometimes we're sick or we oversleep. And before I got married, I attended church with my family just about every Sunday. We regularly serve in our church. No one in the church is paid to do what they do, so we're often "called" to perform tasks to help serve others. These tasks are called "callings." Some callings include, Bishops, councelors, and teachers. These callings can be either accepted or turned down. However most of our members are more than willing to serve. Each individual matters and we all help keep the church running. I've held many callings since the time I was a child until now. My favorite calling was teaching Sunday school to the 1-2 year olds. It was this calling that inspired me to be a teacher. I loved watching children learn. It really made me see how important it is for children to have good teachers. I try to do my best to help those around me and in my community. Our sevice isn't just for our members, it is for anyone who stands in need of help and comfort.

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Alli Rice
The way I increased my faith in Jesus Christ was by trying it out for myself. I read the Book of Mormon, I prayed and I pondered what all these things meant and how they applied to me. I didn't just take someone elses word for it. I saw if the things they were saying were true. Show more Show less
