Hi I'm Don Pagel

I am a convert to the Church. I work for the City of Houston. I have a wonderful wife, three fine sons, and two daughters in law.

About Me

I am a father and husband in my 50's. I have a wonderful wife and three fine sons. We also have two adorable grandchildren. I am an educated professional working for the City of Houston as Deputy Director of the Administration and Regulatory Affairs Department with responsibility for Payroll and Parking.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. At the age of 21, I was searching for meaning in life. A relative of mine had joined the Church and was telling me about it. I later took the missionary discussions and joined the Church.

How I live my faith

I once heard someone say that this faith attracts over-acheivers. That is certainly true. I am not one, but I strive hard to live my faith. I serve as a youth leader for multiple congregations. Personal prayer and study is also important to me. These things plus many more strengthen my testimony and conviction.

Why do Mormons perform proxy baptisms in their temples?

Don Pagel
Certain ordinances in this life are required for progression in the eternities. Baptism performed by the priesthood is one of those sacred ordinances. When I was investigating the church, the principle of proxy baptisms seemed so wonderful to me. It meant that Heavenly Father is truly no respecter of persons and offers important ordinances to those that never had the chance in this life. Show more Show less
