Hi I'm Katie

I'm a mother of four, a local political enthusiast and a group fitness instructor. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a 35 year old mother of four. Most of my day is spent cleaning messes, helping kids with homework, and cooking.Sometimes it is a struggle to stay positive but every day there are moments when I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the gift it is to be apart of these amazing little lives and watch them learn and grow. I also enjoy following local politics and working as a group fitness instructor teaching cycling, kickboxing and boot camp at a ladies' gym. I'm a working on a personal trainer certification.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church. My parents did not attend Church, but I was baptized and from the time I can remember, I had an inner longing to be at church. As I got older and could walk to Church by myself, I did. I felt the spirit there and began to study my scriptures and pray regularly as well. I never had one lightening bolt moment but all along, it just felt right. My testimony has grown over the years and is now the most important thing in the world to me. I can't imagine my life without the guiding light of the Holy Ghost and the gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I get to teach my children every day the purpose of life and that we have a Savior who died for us. I want them to know there is a reason they are here and there is someone who loes them more than I do. I know I can't always be there for them, but I want them to know their Heavenly Father will be. I am also helping to lead the children's organization at church. I am amazed by the faith they already have at such a young age.

What blessings can we receive through the gift of the Holy Ghost?

The greatest blessing in my life is the gift of the Holy Ghost. It is a quiet, calm, warm feeling inside letting me know I'm doing OK. When that feeling leaves or I have a dark feeling inside, I know there is something I need to repent of. In times of anguish, the Holy Ghost is a warm assurance letting me know everything will be OK. And sometimes the Holy Ghost is an idea or "prompting" giving me inspiration for an upcoming sunday school lesson or a way to help a child, neighbor, friend or family member. More than anything, feeling the Holy Ghost has helped me to know there is a God, that I am not alone, and that this is His true Church on the earth.  Show more Show less
