Hi I'm Patty

I grew up in California, but now live in Idaho. I am the mother of six. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love my husband who works hard so that I can stay home with my kids. I have six children and they keep me busy. I had twin boys first then two girls and two more boys. They all bring such a great set of blessings and challenges to my life. I have the proud mom syndrome. You know when you go to your kids school play and you just look at your kid and start to cry. Or when you watch your kid run a race and when you see them cross the finish line you start to cry. Embarrassing I know. I started running in my late 20's. I originally started running to make friends, but I grew to love it, and now it is a hobby. It has help to keep me in shape and lose baby weight many times. I am not a great runner, but I love it and hope to get better and better every year. I have run six half marathons so far. I love to read books and am a member to a great book group in my neighborhood. My favorite books right now I would have to say are, Left To Tell: Discovering God Amidst the Rwandan Holocaust, and The Book Thief, and The Host, okay I love a lot of books. One of my favorite authors is Margaret Peterson Haddix. Great clean books that my kids can read too. Okay some are them are for kids, but I like them too. The Shadow Children is a great series. I love to crochet when I have the time. I like to make fun things for my kids, like for their Halloween costumes. Baby gifts are fun to make too.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints when I was five years old. I was baptized when I turned eight. I have always loved going to church. It has always been something that felt good and made sense to me in my life. As a youth I had great leaders that made coming to midweek activity and Sunday meetings fun. I knew that they cared for me. They got to know me and what I liked and took an interest in me. I continue to go to to church because I know that it is the only true church upon the face of the earth. I know that Joseph Smith restored the Gospel through the power of God. I know that We have a prophet on the earth today. I am so glad that we have continued revelation today. I know that Jesus is the Christ, that he suffered for my sins and has made it possible for me to return to live with my Heavenly Father again. I know that we have an eternal family and that we can be together forever. What a wonderful blessing that is. I know that the Book of Mormon is Another Testament of Jesus Christ along with the Bible. I know this book to be true in all it's teachings. I love to be able to serve in the church and learn more and more all the time. I know that I am a divine daughter of God and that he loves me. I know that he loves each and every one of his children.

How I live my faith

I love to participate at church. Right now I work with the women of the church. Our motto is Charity Never Faileth. We are very service oriented. We believe in helping sisters to increase their Faith, strengthen their families, and to help the poor and the needy. I love to minister and serve others in my church, neighbor hood, and community. I also sing in the choir with my husband and one of my daughters. I love to sing. I am not a great singer, just a choir singer. It is so wonderful to sing praises to the Lord and share what I believe through music. I like to go and visit women in their homes and see if there is anything that I can help them with. It is so nice to get to know women one on one. A couple times a year I help to plan some big activities at church. I have organized a blood drive for the Red Cross, and a Humanitarian service project, where we made quilts to send to Japan.
