Hi I'm Cherilyn

I'm a wife and a new mother, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I like life! I enjoy many things: drawing, painting, guitar and piano playing, singing, dancing, acting, running, hiking, playing volleyball and tennis, picking flowers, reading, and especially taking care of my new baby boy. I taught art to 7th, 8th and 9th graders for four years, but now I am able to teach from home and also make time for my own art. My family is a big part of who I am. I have wonderful siblings and incredible parents, and a husband who is my best friend and hero.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it continually makes sense in my mind and in my soul. This church really is true! :)

How I live my faith

I try to study the Book of Mormon every day because it helps me to follow Jesus' example, and I want to become like him. Prayer helps me in my day-to-day life, also--I am constantly praying because I know Heavenly Father cares about what matters to me and the people I love. I try to keep all of the commandments I am given in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because they all help me be a happier, better me.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

No, Mormons are not all required to serve missions. Most of us who have gone just really wanted to so we applied. I chose to serve because my church membership brings me so much happiness. My mission is a precious part of my life. Show more Show less

In whom should we have faith?

We should have faith in our Savior, Jesus Christ. He is the only one who truly has the power to lift us up and ultimately the power to save us. If we really want to have faith, we need to show it through our actions. As we act, we will find faith in Christ inside us and will feel that faith get brighter the more we act. We will feel ourselves become strengthened and our faith will be proven true and will become knowledge. Later we will be challenged in a new way that will teach us another angle of having faith in Him. Its pretty cool. Show more Show less
