Hi I'm Tamra

I am newly and happily married with lots to learn. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am newly married to a wonderful man. I work with adults who have disabilities and absolutely adore my job. I love to sing and play the guitar and piano. I just recently finished my second semester of college and I don't really know what I want to do next. I like to garden, even if my tomato plants just died. I like to cook and eat delicious food. I love spending time with my husband and our families. I look forward to being a mom more than anything else.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family, but that isn't why I'm Mormon today. I had to learn for myself who I am and who I wanted to become. Sometimes it was really difficult to fit in or to understand certain aspects of being a Mormon, but it all came down to Faith. I recognized that as I followed my Heavenly Father I felt a happiness that the world couldn't offer. I am a Mormon because I know without a doubt that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me and a Savior who made it possible for me to progress and to heal and to become a better person.

How I live my faith

My husband and I teach Sunday School for the 13 & 14 year olds in our ward. We are currently studying the New Testament. It's awesome to learn and to share with the kids about the Savior and His teachings. I am also a new coordinator for the young married adults in our ward. We are hoping to be able to get the younger couples in the ward together for activities so that we can become closer friends.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Tamra
I love Joseph Smith. But we don't worship him. He is a man who was called of God to restore God's gospel on the Earth. He was faithful and diligent and obedient to our Heavenly Father's commandments. He served with all of his heart, and through his example brought many to the church. As Mormons, we have developed testimonies that Joseph Smith was a prophet called of God. We have learned of his sacrifice and his example, and strive to live our lives the way that he did. We worship God the Father and His son Jesus Christ. We admire and love Joseph Smith, just as our Father and Savior do.  Show more Show less
