Hi I'm Rachel

I'm a wife. I'm a mom. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a stay at home mom to five children. I go to school full time working on a college degree. I work part time from home finding sponsors for a marathon. I love to cook, bake and sing.

Why I am a Mormon

I have come from a long line of latter day saints. I continue in following the Gospel of Jesus Christ because I love the simplicity and understanding that it brings to my life. I know that I am a better wife, better mother and better person utilizing the gospel principles in my life.

How I live my faith

I am a PTA member. I am a sports team mom. I substitute teach young children on sunday and keep cub scout awards in order for our pack. I enjoy participating in these activities. Volunteer work brings a joy to my life that I don't believe I would have any other way.

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

The beauty of the earth all around and the complexity of the science and yet simplicity of its actions make me very aware that there is an almighty creator of this earth. I truly am amazed by the simple beauty that can be found in a flower, a meadow or even the laugh of a child. Show more Show less

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

The Bible is Holy Scripture and we revere it as such. We believe in all true principles of the gospel - we also believe that some of these plain and precious truths were lost through time and translation from the Bible but were later restored by revelation through a prophet of the Lord. This year in Sunday School we are studying the New Testament. It has been a blessing to learn and understand more about the Life and Ministry of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I love to read the stories from the Bible! Show more Show less

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

The Mormon lifestyle is pretty much like everyone else around us. We work, we play, we serve. There are things that we try to do everyday read scriptures, pray and live the commandments. We abstain from things that could be addictive and try to live with moderation in all things. Life can sometimes feel like it can pull you along with all of the things that need to be done in the day, but the gospel helps me to find balance in what I choose to do. There are things that are good to do, things that are better to do and things that are best. I strive to stay in the "best" category as much as time and schedule will allow. I know that as I bring the best things into my life and the lives of my family that we will grow closer together and have some fun along the way! Show more Show less

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

The law of the tithe is a principle of the gospel that has been around since ancient times. There are many examples in the Bible of church members giving a tithe. We believe that everything that we have is a gift from God. Without his love we would have nothing. Giving 10 back is something little that we can do as members that can make a huge difference in the lives of others. The Lord promises to send us blessings if we can but give this small portion to Him. I am grateful for the blessings that I have seen in my life as I have paid my tithing. Show more Show less

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

Mormons try and help all people, no matter their faith or beliefs. We are all children of God and He has asked that we love our fellow man. We are not perfect at times in our execution of this, but we strive to treat others as we would like to be treated. Show more Show less
