Hi I'm Corey

I am a FBI Agent, a CrossFit Coach, a father, a husband, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been an FBI Agent since 2004. I came into the FBI because of their need for computer experts. I had been a computer network engineer for 10 years prior to joining the FBI. My first office assignment was Salt Lake City, where I worked Cyber Crimes. I know this sounds strange, but I had never lived in Utah until the FBI sent me there. I am currently assigned to the Los Angeles Division. I currently work on the Technical Operations Squad and I am the Defensive Tactics Coordinator for the Division. A few years ago, the FBI sent me overseas to work with the Military Special Forces on FBI cases in that region. It was there that I was introduced to CrossFit. I loved the workouts. I later became a certified coach and my wife and I opened our own CrossFit Gym in our home town.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a Mormon, but that is not why I am a Mormon. I needed to know for myself. So when I was 18-years old, I studied and prayed to know for myself. I became converted to Jesus Christ at the age of 18, and later served a two year Spanish speaking mission in Houston Texas.

How I live my faith

I serve in my congregation as the President of the Sunday School. I help teachers become better instructors of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I also serve in the Temple. My job and hobbies do not define me. My faith in Jesus Christ, defines me. I am who I am because of my experiences in life and the relationship I have with our Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ. I am not a perfect man, but I do the best I can and rely on Jesus Christ's atonement and mercy to make up the rest. Even though I work in a job where I see the worst of humanity, it is Christ that keeps me grounded. Through his example, I am able to look past a person's faults to see their true potential, which keeps me from having harsh feelings toward those I deal with in my job. Because of my relationship with Jesus Christ, I am able to leave work at work. Reading and praying as a family at night really resets my mood. I can feel his healing hand when I have had a rough day at work.
