Hi I'm Anna.

I'm married and the mother of a year old. I've never met a sweet I didn't like. I read like crazy, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Amidst all that comes with being a wife and a mother, I like to read, run, cook, write, and pretend that someday I will have enough motivation to learn to sew. I am happiest when I am with my husband and daughter. With the right company, I am up for just about anything. I completed an undergraduate degree in Social Work and would like to return to school for a Master's Degree in that field someday. For now, while my husband finishes his degree, I'm content to spend my days teaching my daughter Spanish, frequenting the local libraries and parks, and scouring local thrift stores. It's a good life.

Why I am a Mormon

It started as a decision made by my parents, and their parents before them, and their parents before them. As I got older, I realized that it needed to become my decision. As I've prayed, I've felt the truth of what the gospel---this gospel---teaches. I believe whole-heartedly that Jesus Christ, my Savior, established a church during his short ministry on the earth. I believe that Joseph Smith was a man called of God to bring this same church back to the earth---in its complete form---after many years of the world being lost in confusion. I do believe that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is the true church of Christ on the earth today. I believe so many other churches have wonderful things to offer their members, but that this is the only wherein everything we need to return to live with Heavenly Father after this life can be found.

How I live my faith

I'm lucky enough to be able to work with the young women in my church. I spend one evening a week with them doing all kinds of different activities. These activities have ranged from tubing, to laser tag, to sewing pajama pants, to putting on Bible-themed skits, to serving others in our community, to creating sculptures out of spam. I'm pretty sure I have the best gig in town. I also switch off teaching a class for these young women with two other fantastic ladies every Sunday. We read the scriptures together, talk about values, and help the girls prepare to be mothers, good citizens, and life long followers of Christ. On a personal level, I strive to read from the scriptures and pray every day. It's not always easy and I don't always want to. But I know that it makes a difference in my day to day living. When I pray consistently and really speak with my Heavenly Father, I am a better mother, a better wife, and a better friend. I want to be more like my Savior and hope everyday that I can make choices that will help me be so.
