Hi I'm Shelley Merrill

Born & raised in Alabama - Roll Tide! Wife & mother of two grown sons. Enjoy singing & playing music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a wife and mother, enjoy music, both vocal and instrumental, and computer projects and love to read. I enjoy traveling and sightseeing with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

The witness of the Holy Spirit confirmed my baptism when I was eight years old. From that time forward, there have been so many times where circumstances have occurred that have let me know that my Father in Heaven is mindful of me and my family and that He cares for us and loves us. I am thankful for my family and for my testimony of the gospel that helps me to feel grounded, hopeful and filled with happiness despite any circumstances that life holds. I know through prayer and scripture study that the Gospel of Jesus Christ has once again been restored to the earth in its fulness. I know that through the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints that regardless of life's varying circumstances, I can find peace and feel the love of my Savior, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

Throughout my life, in various opportunities to serve both inside the walls of the church and through service in my community, I have been blessed to be able to act as 'the hands of Christ' to help meet the needs of another. It is such a humbling experience to help someone - usually in the simplest of ways - through visiting with women from church in a program called Visiting Teaching, which is seeing after the needs of other of the sisters and families in our ward, helping out with a dinner when someone is ill, or just offering a kind word or a smile to someone I meet in the world. I have been a Cub Scout den leader, a Boy Scout merit badge counselor and served as the treasurer for my eldest son's high school band program. All of those service opportunities have helped me share my faith in action and make some remarkable friends.
