Hi I'm Melonie

I'm a wife, mother, hairdresser, friend and I'm a mormon. I live life, love life and I'm grateful for my life.

About Me

Hi, I'm a wife, mother, grandmother, and a friend to many. I have been a hairdresser for more than 30 years and love listening to others. I enjoy learning new things each day, reading, cooking, and playing golf when I have free time. I love The Lord, I love life, and I love being a mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

Growing up I searched many different churches, finding little things I felt good about in each of them, but was never converted to loving The Lord. After making unfortunate choices during my teen and early 20's I finally realized I could not navigate this world alone and needed help from my father in heaven. From the 1st time I met with missionaries from my church I felt the spirit and knew what they were teaching me was real. On my 27th birthday I was baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and have never looked back. I am always amazed at how much The Lord loves me and directs me in my life. Does being a mormon keep me from having trials in my life? No, but it does give me the tools to know how to make it through life's rough spots. I have learned to always look at the positive in each situation thrown at me, and to know that help is only a prayer away.

How I live my faith

I've been blessed during my years as a mormon to serve in many ways. I have taught the children for many years, been a Cub Scout leader, activity leader, and now I'm enjoying being the Relief Society President. We have one of most amazing women's organizations and truly do bring relief to those in need in our church and community. Charity is my main focus and I love helping those in need.

Why is self-reliance important to Mormons? Why do Mormons talk about emergency preparedness?

Melonie
We never know what is going to be thrown at us in life, and we believe we should always be prepared. I had no idea that I would end up being a single mom to 3 young ones, and was thankful that I had learned a trade in my youth and had a way to support my family. After marrying, I somehow believed hard times would be over, but found out that life has a way of surprising you. There have been many times in the last 20 years where our family has lived on our food storage and I was thankful that I followed the teachings of the prophets and had stored up food for my family. Because of this, we have never had to rely on others for our basic needs. Show more Show less
