Hi I'm Allison

I'm a mother, a teacher, and a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in California, and moved to Utah to attend college. My husband and I got married, and I graduated. I taught elementary school for two years, but now I stay at home to take care of my son! I enjoy reading, playing sports, going out to eat, and playing board games.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, but that is not the only reason why I'm a Mormon. I belong to this church because I know that it is the true church of God. I have search, pondered, and prayed, and learned for myself from the Spirit that this gospel message is true and good. I continually feel the Spirit confirming to me of God's love for me. I am also a Mormon because I believe strongly in the principle that families can be together forever. I am so grateful for the knowledge that I can be with my husband and my son after death, and for eternity. I wish everyone on Earth could have this same understanding that I have. There is nothing more important to me than this knowledge I have of the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ!

How I live my faith

I live my faith through serving in my ward by being a visiting teacher, which means I visit other women in my ward and help to serve and strengthen them. On Sundays I serve in the nursery, which is for kids ages 18 months to 3 years. Some days it can be challenging, but it is also very rewarding. I love teaching the children about Jesus Christ, and watching them learn. They are so sweet and innocent, and have taught me a lot about the love Heavenly Father has for each of us.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Joseph Smith was the first prophet of our Church, and the man who translated the Book of Mormon. He is highly respected, and we recognize his importance in history. He is a man of God, but we do not worship him. We worship God and Jesus Christ, and we follow our prophet. Show more Show less
