Hi I'm Joe

I am approaching retirement. I love working and associating with good people. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a senior citizen, married 44 years, father of 6 children, grandfather of 32 grandchildren. I am winding up a financial career during which I have worked as a certified public accountant, controller, vice president of finance, chief financial officer and consultant. I love writing messages of inspiration and encouragement to my children, their spouses, their children, my brothers and sisters and their spouses.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has given me the opportunity to be actively engaged in serving others and encouraging them to follow the exemplary life of Jesus Christ. This keeps me busy during many of my non-working hours. Sometimes I ask myself why I choose to use much of my spare time doing this. The answer that always comes to mind is that it makes me feel good and brings a high level of personal satisfaction, especially when a person responds. This gives me further evidence that following the Savior is not only good for the soul, but it is the right thing for me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving others and being engaged in assignments involving my church family and friends. I visit many of the families and individuals moving into the area where I live to welcome and acquaint them with our local leadership and Sunday meeting schedule. I visit the elderly confined to nursing homes and care facilities who have few or no family members living nearby. I visit the homes of those who are struggling in their relationship with the church and the Savior to give them encouragement and to let them know that they have a caring church family anxious to befriend and support them as they deal with the pressures of every day living. These activities bring me a high level of personal satisfaction.
