Hi I'm Jill

I'm a happy mother of five children. I love music and reading books. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Arizona and grew up in New Mexico. I graduated from college summa cum laude with a degree in elementary education and taught 4th and 5th graders before becoming a full-time mom. I am now the happy mom of five beautiful, smart, and talented children! I love reading books, playing the piano, singing, eating chocolate, and playing with my kids.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to a family who were already members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, so I was raised in the Mormon faith. But like so many people, when I was a teenager I wanted to find out for myself what the truth was and not just rely on my parents and family. That is one of the things I love most about this church, we are ALL encouraged to read the Book of Mormon and ask God to find out for ourselves if it is true. I have learned for myself that living the gospel of Jesus Christ is the way I can be happy and have strength to endure my trials. Being a member of this church and trying each day to keep God's commandments has helped me to become a better person and more like my Savior, Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I live in an area in Georgia where there are not many members of our church. This means I have lots of opportunities to serve those around me! I currently help teach an adult Sunday School class where we are studying the New Testament. I also play the piano in church meetings, visit other women in our area on a monthly basis to strengthen and uplift them, and work with the Scouting program as a Cub Scout leader. The best way I live my faith is by trying to pattern my choices after the example Jesus Christ has set for us - that means being patient with my children, kind and helpful to friends and strangers, keeping God's commandments, and regularly praying for and serving others. I'm not perfect, but I keep trying to improve every day!
