Hi I'm Vaughn

I grew up in California and Colorado. I work in the oil and gas industry. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a college degree in business and have worked in the oil and gas industry for over 30 years. I enjoy the outdoors, physical activity, yard work and gardening, and reading. I'm a dad and a grandfather. I do volunteer work in one of our temples and am involved in church service currently filling a leadership assignment for our ward.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a loving and caring home. This laid down a great foundation and gave me a tremendous advantage and start in my life's journey. I had personal spiritual experiences in my youth that instilled within my soul the truthfulness and power of the gospel of Jesus Christ which I found in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Amidst all the frustrations, sorrow, challenges, sufferings, loneliness, inadequacies, inconsistencies, unfairness and unanswerable questions of life, comes the comfort and strength of knowing in my heart and mind eternal truths and laws; recognizing and acknowledging Jesus Christ, his atonement, and the power of his gospel. He is the great equalizer of all the shortcomings and unfairness that exists in this life. I am grateful for his mercy, justice, and love. As I live each day, I am beginning to understand the principles and power of repentance, forgiveness, love, compassion, faith and hope. For me, it is all rooted in the gospel of Jesus Christ. I am grateful for life's experiences that help me discover and better understand who I am, who I want to be, and who I am becoming. I am grateful for gospel principles and commandments that give direction and guidance in my life. It enhances the meaning of life and provides the opportunity for real happiness. I'm thankful for the gift of agency and the principle of stewardship where I learn responsibility and accountability. I am becoming more keenly aware how the consequences of my choices impact not only my life, but the lives of others. One of the most precious things in life are relationships; developing relationships with others and with God. We need people in our lives. We need each other - to continuously help each other in this life. I pray to always be blessed with hope, to have the strength and commitment necessary to live each day of this life with an inner peace and joy that can be found by fully living the gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I currently serve in a leadership position coordinating Sunday lessons, organizing visits with members, filling assignments for volunteer work in the church and community. I teach lessons on Sundays, participate in leadership meetings, sing in the choir, and assist in organizing social activities. I enjoy reading and studying scriptures and praying daily on an individual basis and with my wife.
