Hi I'm Brittany

I'm a Mormon. I love to laugh, learn new things, be inspired and love to travel.

About Me

I'm Brittany. 23 years old, from Eastern Oregon. I'm the one who smiles for no reason, I'm a good listener, I love bearing my testimony to people. I'm a avid photographer. I love pictures, cameras and such. The peace of taking pictures in the spring or winter gives me peace in a chaotic life style. The Office, Harry Potter, Led Zepplin, Guitars, Pianos are a few of my favorites. I'm a hard worker, I'm going back to school in September. I'm applying for the BYU Pathways program, majoring in Family and Marriage Studies. For the love of my interest in people, I hope to work in the LDS Family Services some day.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I know the Church is true. I grew up in a Pentecostal Church my entire life, thanks to my grandparents. I always went to a church summer camp every summer. During those times I would get a spiritual high during the week, thinking Heavenly Father had a grasp and relieved my life troubles. As I went home it only last a few weeks, until I was back to my normal, angry self. I stopped going to church, stopped praying and went on to having the normal high school life. I went to college, having a mindset that I wasn't going to have God in my life, and I was going to do whatever I wanted. A few years later, I moved back home from college, in hopes to find work. I surrounded myself in work, meeting new friends, discovered my first love and heart break, alcohol and such. I prayed thinking that Heavenly Father could help me with it, but I received no answers. The holiday season approached a year ago, I was alone and afraid. My family moved to Wyoming, and I shut myself out of the outside world, other family members including my sister. It was Christmas Eve, that I went to my sister's house to spend the holidays with. We talked for hours about life, the gospel. She just got baptized in the church a few months earlier and recently married. I was envious of her happiness and was so curious to find out how I could be happy. I made a vow to make changes. It was to go back to church after 4 years, to find the true church and accept the gospel in my life on a daily basis. The first time I met the Missionaries the spirit was so strong in the Gospel Principles room, that when they challenged me for baptism, I started crying so hard and nodded yes. 2 weeks later, I made the best decision of my life, and got baptized. Those important dates has made my life today so much better knowing I have Heavenly Father and The Holy Ghost to help me in the dark times, to strive and help others, and have the gospel being the center of my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by grasping on the Scriptures and applying it to my life on a daily basis. The scriptures are a huge influence and has changed me for the better. Applying what I learned from the scriptures, and various tools has helped me gain a new healthy and happy perspective on life. I'm highly involved in my YSA Butter Creek Branch. I. I visit teach given times to in active and active members, giving them spiritual thoughts and inviting them to various activities. I'm also teach in Relief Society sometimes when needed. I'm in the Activities Committee for The Tri Stake. I attend monthly planning meetings with various stakes around and help plan monthly activities for the YSA. It's a blessing to surround our single youth with different people around the area and to help them in gain friendships, have fun and increase their faith. I also help in FHE, and give spiritual thoughts when asked.
