Hi I'm Cari

I am a single, finance manager with a background in theatre. I love traveling, being outdoors and cultural arts. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts and also in Secondary Education. I have a master’s degree in Business Administration. I have lived many places: Utah, Idaho, Texas, California, England, Hawaii, & Arizona. I traveled many more: Italy, Ireland, England, Wales, Thailand, Japan, Viet Nam, Hong Kong, Brazil, and Chile, Argentina. I have had many jobs: High School Teacher, Master Electrician, Stage Manager, Secretary, Finance Analyst, and Finance Manager. The two things most likely to make me smile are food and music. I love eating - especially ethnic foods - Thai, Greek, Italian, Middle Eastern, . . . . just about anything. I love jazz but my music favorites range from Queen to Barbara Streisand to Cold Play to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. I am task oriented - I hate wasting time. I look forward to cleaning and working on projects around my house. I am happiest when I am helping others and spending time with family and friends. I have a tremendous appreciation for education - spiritual and secular - and love being able to teach others what I have learned. I enjoy Shakespeare, driving fast and playing tennis. I go hiking at least every other week.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a Mormon but I have never had a day in my life when I doubted the truthfulness of the Mormon Church and its teachings. It brings me more joy and happiness than everything else in my life combined. Being a Mormon gives my life purpose and direction. Why am I here on this Earth? - to gain a body, to experience mortality, to be tested and to learn to exercise faith in God and his plan for me. I am here to prove that I will be obedient to his will and do all I can to love him and serve my brothers and sisters on this Earth. I am not here to see how many vacations I can take or how much money I can earn but to see how many lives I can bless and how many Christ like qualities I can develop. If I do these things well then I will obtain my ultimate goal which is to return to live with God - with my family and those I love. I am a Mormon because this church teaches me how to do these things.

How I live my faith

I am fully committed to this church. My activities, my values, my time, my money, my energy . . . are all focused on living what I believe. I have had countless different church assignments in my life: Sunday school teacher, leadership positions in the women's organization, choir director, activities chairperson and currently I work with the youth group. I participate in all the events I am able to: hiking clubs, neighborhood clean-up projects, donating time to food kitchens and welfare programs, church camp outs and dinners, etc. I am single and all of my extended family lives in another state so the members of my church become my family. I participate in their lives wherever possible. Movies, dinners, babysitting, activities, helping them move or serving food at their wedding receptions, yard work, celebrating birthdays, . . . . whatever we do we do together. I regularly spend my free time in personal scripture study, attending the temple and praying. This helps me strengthen my personal faith in, and relationship with, Jesus Christ.
