Hi I'm Amy Peterson

I live in the Pacific Northwest. I have a wonderful family. I want to make the world a better place. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the church, but my dad was a convert at age 21. Seeing his devotion to the church and the way he lived his life despite his family's disapproval of his new religion really helped me to gain a testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel. Now I have children of my own, and I hope that I can show them a good example of Christian living. I love to read, run, cook, garden, watch sports, travel, and play games. And I love my Savior Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it makes every aspect of my life better. I know how to deal with life's challenges. I receive help from a loving Heavenly Father in many ways, including spiritual promptings, blessings from priesthood holders, and through other good people also trying to live righteous lives. I have a network of friends and fellow saints in my community who serve and teach me. My husband and I are teaching our children LDS values because we see what a difference the church has made in our lives. We feel blessed to be able to represent Jesus Christ and His church on the earth today. I like how the church works to help individuals and families improve themselves and their communities. I have a close relationship with God, and a solid understanding of my worth in His sight.

How I live my faith

I teach a lesson in the women's organization once a month. I am also planning a camp for the young women in our area. It's going to be a lot of fun! I try to help my children look for ways to serve our neighbors and our community. Being a Mormon means setting a good example of citizenship and kindness. I have a daily habit of scripture study, and we read and pray daily as a family as well. The church helps me live a happier, more fulfilling life. With Jesus Christ as the center of my life, I am able to make good choices about how to spend my time. The church supports me in my role as a wife and mother, and validates my importance as a woman.
