Hi I'm Kit

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in Southern California. I am a father of three and a grandfather of four.

About Me

I am a structural engineer and own my own business, with my son. Our market niche is the construction materials industry in that we do engineering for mining companies, concrete companies and asphalt companies. We also help them obtain permits, such as mining permits. I like to work with wood and like to do rough carpentry projects. I also like music and listen to folk, rock, and french music. I collect coins and currency. My grandchildren are the joy of my life and would rather spend time with them than anyone else. My wife and I also like to travel. We have visited Mexico, Canada, Tahiti, New Zealand, China, the Philippines, Europe. We long to visit as many places as we can. I also like sports, professional basketball and college football.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a Mormon but was not real active in my early years. As a teen, I befriended another who was active, and he helped me to get involved. In fact, it was when he said he wanted to go on a mission, that I finally considered doing it. Ended up, I went and he never got to. My wife was a new member when I met her and we were married in the Temple. We have raised our children to be active Mormons but only two out of the three are - it is their choice and I respect that. Being a Mormon is very important to me. I feel that it has defined my life. Because I am a Mormon, I am also a Christian. It's hard to say where my life would be if I had not become active in the Church.

How I live my faith

As indicated above, I am very active in the Church and take my membership and positions in the Church very seriously. I have served on the High Council of the Stake, in the Bishopric, as Stake Clerk and Stake Executive Secretary. I've also been Stake and Ward Young Men's President, Elder's Quorum President, High Priests Group Leader. But, probably my two favorite callings have been Ward Financial Clerk and Priesthood Teacher. I try too obey the commandments every day of the week but find keeping the Sabbath holy the hardest one to obey. Praying and scripture study are important to me.
